Re: San Francisco, Ca [Results]
Hey guys Josh from Seattle here. I just wanted to thank everyone for your great feedback and sharing you work. I really enjoyed my time in San Francisco and will look you guys up when I come back, but for now here are my posts!
Re: San Francisco, Ca [Results]
another great sketchcrawl day, my 2nd in SF, my 8th in total. Bad start, I got off the 14 bus and trod in dogpoo, oh well, but the rest of the day was just brilliant. Thank you all for sharing sketchbooks at the end, i met some very interesting people and saw some amazing sketches, but I'm shy so left muddy's early (plus i don't drink coffee and realy fancied a messy burrito). Wonderful drawings posted above so far! Marc Taro: i love the style you've used, i totally want to try that. Really powerful. Colin: saw yours at muddy's, great pencilwork, very alive and that last one is incredible. The other drawings posted are great too, and very inspiring.
Here are mine:
images from the train. I came down early from Davis (not cheap!).
that big insectoid alien thing invading the city, that has to appear somewhere:
did the first few within feet of que tal. Great sunshiney day.
One of the great victorians on guerrero. Moved on down 24th after this.
coloured that one later in the day, over a beer back in davis.
and that one was going to be colour, but sepia was just so much quicker
after my massive burrito i went home, a very long a tiring journey back to davis. Feet hurt. Then my scanner played up, so i was up late (watching alan partridge) and sorting that out. Too tired to post though, so am posting tonight instead.
Great work everybody! I'll be looking at all your websites. Love discovering artists online.
Roll on sketchcrawl 21! when's the next one?

Another great SC turn out on Saturday! I'm really glad to have met
everyone during and after the event. I definitely did more walking
and promoting of Sketchcrawl, but was able to do at least 2 sketches.
Collin - Great sketchbook, That tree still looks wicked!
John - Pleasure to finally meet you in person. Thanks for all the
sketchbook advice and sharing the location of that 25 cent pony
ride around the corner of the lucha libre masks. Unfortunately
I saw it on the way back to my car.
Marc - Great line work. Very inspirational style. Best of luck
on your new gig.
Goro - I missed out on your awesome sketchbook that was passed
around. Josh gave you much props. I'll have to check out your
blog/website. Your Sketchcrawl caricatures are so recognizable!
Larry - Great texture in your sketches. I really liked that
2nd one with all the bags.
Kenny - Glad you made it all the way from Concord!
Tai - Great softness to your linework.
Josh - Glad you made it out to the Bay Area Sketchcrawl.
I'll definitely have to join the Seattle group next year.
Awesome Lucha Libre masks and caricatures!
Pete - How did I not see you at the Crawl? Wait, I did,
You're in my first sketch! That was you? Man, great
set of sketches. I love the time stamps you included.
I am in awe at the amount of sketches you cranked out
Winona - Those were great thumbnail sketches from
Eirk Tiemens workshop and awesome line work on your SC
pages. Thanks so much for your character cards

Re: San Francisco, Ca [Results]
How wonderful that so many of you were able to meet and sketch together!!
Collin - Your sketches are great. I love how the one of the farmer's market fades into the distance. The ones in Dolores Park of the people and tunnel are good...love the poses!
John - Amazing ink sketches of the faces and figures. Wonderful drawings of the city itself!!
Marc - Your architectural details are fabulous! Love the touches of color on them.
Goro - Good people sketches..nice style. My favorite is the 2nd page of people with the lady with the sunglasses. Good job on the buildings too.
Larry - Love the display of purses for sale! That house with the corner window is lovely!!
Kenny - Love your version of the house too!!
Tai - That gnarly tree is great as well as the sketch of the outdoor cafe and the upstairs windows on Bartlett Street!!!!
Josh - How great that you were able to join the SF group. Nice masks and faces.
Pete - Love you sketches traveling down!! Great job and you must sketch so quickly! Super sketch of the corner building. Nice perspective looking down that street. Love the Victorian house! The sepia one is perfect. I think the sepia adds a completely different feeling. Your moleskin sketches are tiny and have such wonderful detail!!!
Gerald - I love the sketch of the sketchcrawlers and the display of masks...good detail in both!

Oh, Wow! You San Franciscans did a great job! I love all the sketches! There must be a lot of artistic talent in your city.
Re: San Francisco, Ca [Results]
Enrico - Wonderful sketch of the bike against the parking meter. Nice corner cafe. Your group always has a great turnout!!
Re: San Francisco, Ca [Results]
I could type all night praising these sketches - there are SO many from all of the SF crowd and if there were 60 how many are still not scanned. So much talent and inspiration.

This was a fun day; I especially liked happening randomly onto the Noe Valley Harvest Festival up 24th st. I see Larry got a good one of the handwoven bag stand.
The two above are from outside Quetal.
This was from the festival, where they had the streets blocked off and a band playing.
You saw these already in Larry's post!
I ducked into a bakery and switched to a red china marker.
This was the aftermath of a pie-eating contest.
There were lots of dogs and babies.
And the last page was the bart ride home.
