SAN FRANCISCO, CA USA [RESULTS]
SAN FRANCISCO, CA USA [RESULTS]
I started out the morning in Golden Gate Park where I saw some beautiful plants
and a group of birdwatchers with their spotting scope mounted on a tripod.
They had it aimed at a nest of Great Blue Heron chicks on an island in Stowe Lake.
I also met up with a couple of landscape painters from the California Art Club
who were on a plein air paint out. Then I stopped at a small shop that caught my eye
on the way down 17th Street to Dolores Park.
Once I got to the park I found an absolute zoo for people watchers and people drawers.
And, with a little luck I was able to scramble together a contribution too.

Nice one San Fran
Re: SAN FRANCISCO, CA USA [RESULTS]
What a pleasant day. I started in the park.
Then moved to Ritual where quite a few other sketchcrawlers ended up too.
And I finally got a sticker! Hurrah.

Great results, congratulations.
Re: SAN FRANCISCO, CA USA [RESULTS]
My two best pages of the day.
After attending the last couple Sketchcrawls I felt I should contribute to the forum. Thanks to all who let me see their sketchbooks at the end, it was fantastic to be surrounded by so many genuinely talented people!
John - I love the across the street view, awesome!
Roman - Your lines are so inspiring!

John D: You had a very productive day and you proofed to be an experienced people watcher (and drawer).
bluebed: I like your soft and fluent linework.

Awesome work so far! Dolores park was definitely the place to go for people-watching, you all have made some great character sketches!
Man, I need a t-square.
Get well soon, Japan. : (

This was my first sketchcrawl, and I really really enjoyed it! It was really amazing meeting all the artists who came out, and seeing what everyone accomplished throughout the day! So much fun.
I just had my first location drawing session on Thursday with my layout design class, and we used markers. I wanted to keep practicing that technique so I worked on that all day, Im pretty happy with the look of it, if not for the need to practice drawing from life more often! :}
Thanks everyone for the great experience, I hope to see you at the next one!

Great work everyone! John D, it was nice to meet you and see your great sketchbook, I also particularly like the sketch of the street and also the telescope. Sarah, love the style you use, especially the sketch with the tent and the lamp-post, it's gorgeous. MSB, awesome details, like the cafe interior. Samantha, cool sketches! Bluebed, very nice expressions!
It was nice chatting with everyone at the end, and also with Jana and Allan during the crawl. I sketched a lot, and will scan the rest of my stuff later but here is a photo of my first page and a half:

This was also my first Sketchcrawl - I spent most of it at the Basilica & Mission.
Later, hunger drew me onto Valencia looking for the perfect burrito. I found this mural on the side of a building and the perfect lunch at Regalito Mexican Rotissiere.

Love seeing all these great sketches. It was great to spend a couple of hours with the SF sketchcrawlers! I'll post my sketches when I return home to Chicago.

Good to see people I haven't seen in a while. Great fun. I stayed in Dolores the whole time.
