Phoenix, AZ USA - [Results]
Just got back from a half-crawl - everyone else is still going strong. This crawl took place at the Musical Instrument Museum just 5 minutes from here but an amazing place. We sketched instruments from everywhere in the world, ate some good lunch and caught up a bit. Here are a few sketchings, I hope to post a few more after an airport run and will post a few photos from the day as well. The museum is B&W PENCIL ONLY so we had to abandon watercolors and such but it was fun stickig to pencil for a change. There is also a large "hands on" room where you can play anything - even the Tyco drum. Much fun!
Next are a few masterpieces rom my 6yr old son who asked me over and over today if he can go to ALL the sketchcrawls:
He was very reluctant to stop sketching and leave.

Another great SketchCrawl adventure. Could have spent many more hours at this museum.

Aurora: Amazing sketches as always - wow!
Here are a few photos I finally wrestled from my phone:
You may notice above I attempted to sketch this outdoor sculpture (102F hi humidity). I was going mad trying to reconcile the curves of this one before realizing the sculpture was slowly rotating on the pedestal!

I didn't get as many done as I would have liked, but here are a few at least.

Hi guys - great catching up with you again and some cool sketches. MIM is a neat place but unfortunately waaay too many things to look at and admire and the audio for all the instruments around the world was fascinating - so we spent most of our time being tourists and enjoying the museum. Great venue. I only did a couple of quick loose doodles and not sure they're worth posting- I'll need to get them on to sketchydoodle first -

Howdy Phoenix Folk..
I was just taking a quick lunch break to get another peek at more Sketchcrawl 32 results. I just can't seem to focus on work today, I just keep going back to Sketchcrawl
Anyway, this is the third visit to your forum thread this week-end and time to leave my comments.
First I want to say that you picked an absolutely amazing place to sketch at. It did not seem to faze you that the museum only permitted black and white pencil sketching. You all had it worked out in the end.
Much of your subject matter is very complicated and detailed.
I really like the little girl at the piano, that was a nice touch.. and the subtle "Sketchcrawl and Son's" piano LOL I understand this was done by Amy.
What the heck is a frog-scrapper??? Sounds like something out of biology 101 class. Great job Amy, fantastic sketches.
Very nice to see the kids participating, they did some good work. The 6 year old boy is a keener
The rotating sculpture issue, kind of reminds me of a time I was at a revolving restaurant and lost my table.. hmm .. I had to laugh at your comment.
Mossgate: beautiful sketches of Mi-gyaung and thanks for sharing the photo's
Well it's back to boring work for a while.. this happens when you are not an artist by trade (Banking and Project Management - boring, boring, boring)... well until my mind wanders again.
Cheers
