It was a tough choice between joining the Brooklyn, NY group, and staying more local, but working solo. An irresistible gig came up, and I decided to go with my passion, sketching musicians as they perform live. It was a concert by "BackCountry Jazz" in conjunction with Greenwich Library's celebration of Louis Armstrong month. Great setting and awesome music!
I love it that they autographed your sketches. The interaction with them that sketching opened up must have been as much fun as the music and the sketching!
These are really good. Nice to sketch ro music! I especially like the one you did of Catherine. I met up with the Brooklyn group and had a really fantastic day. As Arnold would say, "I'll be back".
Thanks all for your encouragements. Debora - yes, having the musicians autograph always adds a bit to my sense of them, and is a part of my enjoyment. BTW, if you look at the results from Huelva Spain, it seems like Alvin Caricero sketched his fellow sketchers and got their autographs! Hopefully next crawl "I'll be back" with the NYC crew! Parker
