Under the mountain sketchers..
I had to come back and check for new postings especially after razzing Brian about his missing sketches. LOL
Anyway, it was worth the return. You folks have quite a mountain there.. very majestic, thanks for sharing the photo. I just had to google map the location. See I learn new things and about new places everyday.
Thanks all for sharing the photo's too.
Brian, your penwork looks great, you handle that pen incredibly well. The red sketches really stand out on my Mac screen. They really make the sketches pop. The bw ones are really great too.
Jackie.. great sketch of the Landing Cafe. Has an interesting viewpoint. I love the sketch of the guy reading the paper.. I couldn't quite read the articles over his shoulder
Now I know where you are, and who you are, I will keep an eye or two on the "Taranaki Sketchers". You look like a fun and friendly group.
Cheers
CyberDave

I enjoyed looking at the results here while I was eating my breakfast on the morning of sketchcrawl. Good inspiration for my day.
I especially like the sketch of paper lanterns. Mary

Hello Taranaki Sketchers..
I'm back for a another look see... thanks I just went for a viewing of each members gallery. Great group.
Those photo's on the master site are awesome.
My hat comes off to Brian, Eileen, Jackie, Julie, Liz, Scott and Trevor all great talents.
Scott -- great cars.. I like old cars and trucks myself, they have character.
Have to get myself into a regular sketch group here.. sketchcrawling is so much fun and better when not solo. Most of my friends up to now are cranky, dull business, banking folk. Logic people.. bah .. no fun. If you don't know, I am a boring computer geek, Project Manager during the day. Had such a great time since getting into this sketchcrawling and meeting new people. Especially so many that have a good eye for seeing things that most people miss everyday.
Nice talking to you

Re: New Plymouth New Zealand [RESULTS] under the mountain
Thank-you to all of you for your feedback.
Thanks Dave for your comments. The viewpoint for the landing cafe was from sitting up in the Puke Ariki Museum looking through a big window. Scott has posted a sketch of Puke Ariki and on the side is the window where I was sitting looking accross the street.
Here is a sketch I did of Puke Ariki a while ago.

Wow! Overwhelmingly wonderful and divers collection from New Plymous! Each has unique allure, enthusiastic feel I was impressed especially by kinetic millenium wind wand, Devon Street Scene, guys on the internet, the Japanese fish (Koinobori in japanese), The White Hart Hotel and Angela's birds.

Great sketching and tasteful, strategic use of color to support the line work. The whole tour of subject matter was very interesting.
