It was a cold, clear day here in northern Idaho. My hands got a bit stiff and sore, but here are the results. After a few quick warm-ups, I got interested in a couple of the marquee signs along Main Street. Only saw a few other sketchers out and about, hopefully they'll post their drawings as well!

Went out for the sketch crawl downtown moscow and met up with Matt Brehm and another first year at Sisters to compare. I brought a friend Grace and even her 13 year old sister to sketch! Grace did charcole renders of figures (mainly me and Maddie) while Maddie sketched a purse. I picked a building on the way downtown. Here is the Siebe Law Offices next to city hall...
Marvelous results!
@ Matt.....I found yours works GREAT. It seems that you are leaving an archictural sing to an artistic one..... But mantein both. I found second and third pics very strong! Bravissimo!
Italian part: ciao Matt come stai? I tuoi lavori sono bellissimi......quando torni a Roma fatti sentire che andiamo a disegnare
A presto Marco.

Finally was able to scan my work. It is a bit late but I figured it still couldn't hurt to post. The first one is a brick detail which caught my eye since I usually draw brick so clean when in reality it isn't, and the second is a corner of a coffee shop where the Moscow sketchers met. It was a study on the ceiling and wall relationships with the exposed beams.
Saturday was such a clear, bright day in Moscow, I keep forgetting it is only January. This is one of the small detached buildings at the Silos, sketched from the cafe's window. I used a brown micron pen, watercolor and some prisma pencils.
