A large group (probably the biggest ever - I don't have the numbers) met in Hyde Park at the Anzac Memorial. The forecast was 'showers'and it was sprinkling a little. We sat under a big tree while we waited for any latecomers. Then down it came! The white flagpoles were reflecting on the wet ground.

We scarpered across the road to the Australian Museum, where very kindly they locked all our wet umbrellas & sketching stools and chairs in a room for us. We were WET. Drenched. It was only a very short distance away but crossing the road was like wading through a creek.
The museum is a perfect place to sketch. The Search and Discover room has animals on plinths that you can take to a table and sit down & sketch, then get another one when you're ready.

I chose a possum because there's one frequenting my courtyard, only 4km from Martin Place, and a plover because we got divebombed by one at Cockatoo Island a while ago.
